"Why
I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy"
A Lifetime Movie Event hosted by the Faulkner-Sagoff Centre and
Adamas Fine Jewelry
On the evening of October 26, 2006, more than 300 supporters
of the Faulkner-Sagoff Centre gathered for a special
screening of the Lifetime original movie, "Why
I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy." The movie
is based on the memoirs of Geralyn Lucas, a breast cancer
survivor and Lifetime executive. Hollywood actors
Sarah Chalke (Scrubs), Jay Harrington (Desperate
Housewives), and Grammy-winner Patti LaBelle, star
in this inspiring movie about a young 27 year-old woman's
discovery and acceptance of her breast cancer diagnosis
and how she moves forward through life with courage,
humor, and of course, her red lipstick.
More than $20,000 was raised for the Faulkner-Sagoff
Centre at the sold-out event (with over 150 people on
a waiting list) which included a reception, sales of
limited edition Sagoff Centre bracelets which Adamas
Fine Jewelry created, book signing by Geralyn Lucas,
and a special appearance by actor and Wellesley native,
Jay Harrington.

Fine Jewelry Goes on Safari
What a year it's been….In 2006, not only was Adamas
Fine Jewelry the Title Sponsor to the Faulkner-Sagoff
Centre for breast cancer screenings and diagnostics,
but it supported the Wildlife WayStation in Los Angeles.
The WayStation is a charity that provides food and shelter
to abandoned or injured exotic and endangered animals
such as Siberian and Bengal tigers, Leopards, Jaguars,
Chimpanzees, and many species of Birds of Prey. Over
the past 30 years, founder Martine Colette, has maintained
the WayStation and provided a sanctuary to over 76,000
animals. She continues to support them through various
fundraising efforts.
In 2006, her primary effort included a Safari Brunch
held on October 14th at the famed Playboy Mansion in
Los Angeles. The event was attended by over 700 entertainment,
political and business leaders and celebrities. Nicollette
Sheridan (Edie Britt) of Desperate Housewives,
was the honoree, with special guests including Betty
White; Bill Maher; and retired astronaut, Buzz Aldren.
Entertainment was provided by Quincy Jones, Marilyn
McCoo and Bill Davis, Jr. Nicolette Sheridan presented
the main live auction piece-the Adamas Fine Jewelry
"puffed heart" necklace containing 3.00 ctw
of pave diamonds, that she wore on the final episode
of Desperate Housewives last season. Over the 12-year
history of the Wildlife WayStation's annual event at
the Playboy Mansion, this year's Safari Brunch produced
the greatest amount of funds ever! It was a sold out
and exhilarating event, to say the least. Adamas
Fine Jewelry played a major role in providing the
key auction item for the event, and will continue to
do so for years to come.

This diamond puffed heart necklace was glamorously worn
in episode #222, May 14, 2006 of Desperate Housewives,
by Edie (Nicollette Sheridan), as she was being confronted
by Susan for burning down her house. Puffed heart is created
in 18 karat white gold, with 3.00 carats of pave diamonds,
whimsically dangling from five strands of white gold chains.

Breast Cancer Gala Combines Charity, Jewelry and Fashion
Celebrities, trendsetters, and donors gathered on May 6 at
the Four Seasons Boston in support of Faulkner-Sagoff Breast
Imaging and Diagnostic Centre. Led by Newton-based title sponsor,
Adamas Fine Jewelry, this year's Charity Gala and Auction
was the most successful in the 11 year history of the event.
Emceed by WCVB-TV's Susan Wornick, the Gala honored Centre
benfactor Gretchen Monahan of Grettacole, Gretta Luxe and
G Spa; and featured a fashion show (courtesy of New York's,
Zac Posen) and an appearance by Hollywood's Trisha Simmons
(of Desperate Housewives' fame). To continue donations post-event,
Adamas Fine Jewelry has designed and is offering a limited-edition,
fine sterling silver
and rose gold bracelet, and will donate 100% of proceeds
of bracelet purchases toward breast cancer prevention through
imaging and early diagnostic testing.
